Kazakhstan Introduces Regulatory Framework for Crypto Exchanges and Stablecoins
Kazakhstan is taking decisive steps to bring clarity to its cryptocurrency sector with a new licensing system for crypto-fiat exchanges. The National Bank will oversee operators converting digital assets to fiat currency, marking a significant move toward legitimizing the industry.
Stablecoin issuers and digital asset platforms will now fall under formal supervision. This regulatory push aims to reduce legal uncertainties while fostering innovation in the country’s crypto ecosystem.
The Astana International Financial Center’s existing exchange infrastructure may be incorporated into the national licensing framework, creating a unified system for digital asset oversight.
